SACRAMENTO, Calif. — The top tech-savvy community colleges in the country have been named by the Center for Digital Education. The annual Digital Community Colleges Survey identified colleges that provide a high level of service to their students and faculty through information technology. Schools were placed in three categories based on enrollment during the 2007 school year. The survey examined various areas of technology such as online admissions, student access to transcripts and grades, information security and infrastructure, weather and campus security alerts and online library capabilities. It also examined how colleges are deploying technology to streamline operations and better serve students, faculty and staff. The first place winners in each of the three categories are:
